Is anyone arriving on Wednesday night, ahead of the convention? If so any plans for pick up games or board games in the lounge spaces?
Hopefully another Frankenparty. There have been variuos games available there. But mostly social and eating.
My friend and I are coming in on Wednesday hoping to find a game that night. We'd be very interested in a 1e AD&D game, and would be willing to run something if no one else is.
I'd be willing to run either of my scheduled events: A Tale Told By An Idiot(AD&D/Planescape) or League of Extraordinary Gentlewomen(Savage Worlds), as described on the Events thread if people are interested. I suppose I could also do last year's Gamma World event Water Water Everywhere.
I may bring some board games for Wednesday if anyone is interested... "The Thing, Infection at Outpost 31" and "Donner Dinner Party".... I do a lot of game demos for several companies so I am always getting new games
If I'm there early enough, I'd be happy to run something...as long as you didn't play in my game at GC8, I should be good to go. I should also have Avalon Hill's Tobruk & Squad Leader, if you prefer.
Two years ago I think I played only on Sunday. I've been overburdening myself with GM duties the last few years. I stepped back as much as I could for X, to enjoy more of the player aspect.
If my work schedule permits me to put in some prep time, I'd be up for running some Dungeon World on Wednesday night if folks would to give it a chance. It's a great game!
Ideally, I'd love to run my AD&D/Planescape Tale Told By An Idiot (since I only managed to fit it in once during the regular convention). But if there's insufficient interest, I'd love to check out Dungeon World!
Yeah, BTDT...I'm only running a couple games this year. I ran Pandora's Apprentice (low-level_ and The Ghost of Mistmoor (mid-level) at GC8...I think I ran Mistmoor on Sunday.
People gather at the Next Door Pub and at the hotel bar on Wednesday nights, but mostly just to socialize. For gaming, maybe poke around the gaming areas for folks looking to run/play a game if you don't find a group online before hand. If that doesn't work, strolling the halls yelling "my dice are itchy" is sure to.
If I would have known there would be no Frankenparty I would have arrived a day later. I'm sad now. I wouldn't have purchased a gold badge if I would have known Frank was out. This sucketh, sayeth the man.
I'll be in Wednesday, but my fight doesn't land in Chicago until 9 pm. I couldn't really take anymore time off of work, hence the later flight.
