I thought I would create a post geared towards those who will be attending Sunday and wish to find a good boardgame. I'll be running games all through the con, but Sunday I hope to have some free time and am thinking of bringing Task Force Games', Star Fleet Battles and Avalon Hill's, Starship Troopers. I have never played either but really wish to learn both. Any experts on these games out there wish to sit down for a pick-up game? I'll also bring a couple of newer games that have been sitting on my shelf awaiting some play, Kenzer and Company's, The Great Space Race and Twilight Creation's,Innsmouth Escape. :mrgreen:
Yer trying to sucker me in, aren't ya Red? Both are very good games, SFB's being one of my favorites. (Brings out the Klingon in me. :twisted: ) Starship Troopers uses the "programed instruction method" & shouldn't be any problem in learning, just read the first set of instructions & play the first scenario. (Rinse/repeat for each other scenario.) SFB requires crib notes, with all the rules there-in. Too bad Sunday I'm running a 5 hour Wizwar event or I'd have gladly spent my day helping you out with both.
Yeah I'd be up for some Con wind down time with some boardgames on Sunday. I don't think we have any events scheduled on Sunday and I was already planning on staying another night to leave on Monday. Was going to bring Order of the Stick, Middle-Earth Quest, and my tricked out 2nd edition Talisman for the con.
Sunday is perfect for playing boardgames and spending a couple hours with friends that you only get to see at Gary Con. I have spent the past Sunday evenings gaming with friends at my brother Ernie's house. I am glad to see more people extending through Sunday as well. Looking forward to seeing everybody in a couple weeks.

I can't wait to see you and the whole gang again Totan. Its been way to long. Work was just about to die down when the G8 was announced in Chicago and then it's been no stop since. I can't wait for the 3rd week in May to be here and gone. Chicago is so unprepared for the summit. Anyway, I'm going to be hanging out in game room almost the whole time so I'm sure we'll get time for a game or two.
