Fifth on the list!! Sending reminders out to the other forums I visit, as we speak. Thanx for the update! :D

There was a lot of interest in this from people I spoke to at GenCon. I know one 3e/4e blogger who I may have converted to the joy of OD&D might be coming - my partner-in-crime for the one page dungeon contest, ChattyDM/Phil.

So the interest is there! I'd say at least 10 to 12 people I spoke to were saying they wanted to come.

hello I am new here and got the interest to go from the kenzerco website. I pr-reged me and my wife. I did not receive any emails though. I payed through paypal. I just wanted to make sure you had me down for 2. I clicked the wizard when I was logged in under Pana.

    thanks for your time.

btw I would be willing to run hackmaster or aces and eights if needed.

    pana!

Registered today! Made it just under the Early-Bird wire! I'm sorry I missed last year as I didn't know about it. Honestly, I was on the verge of selling off my collection of AD&D/D&D related items since it's been so long since our gaming group has broken up. Thankfully I'll be attending this year to re-ignite the gaming flame!
See you all there in March!

I'm going to see if my fiancee wants to come up with me (she's not a gamer), so hopefully I can pre-register this weekend.

Maybe I'll even run a few games of Paranoia (2nd edition). Those always make for good con games. Hopefully, there'll be some games I don't get to play much, like Hackmaster, Aces & Eights, maybe even some Dark Heresy or Shadowrun.

Hmmmm. Do I need to register my wife separately? Would that mean I need to sign her up an account?

    Thanks in advance.

So she doesn't play any games at all? No Monopoly or Sorry at family gatherings? No Everquest or World Of Warcraft on the computer? Or online poker, or even Minesweeper? She doesn't go bowling or golfing with friends? She doesn't play gin rummy or four-point pitch? Or a few hands of blackjack at the local Indian casino? She doesn't own an X-Box or a Playstation or a Wii?

I've said it before, and will continue to insist that it is true--we are all gamers. We just don't all play the same games. There are golfers and chess players out there whose obsession and devotion to their game make even the legendary Brian Van Hoose seem like a dilettante. There is much more to gaming than wargames and RPGs--Gary, I believe, knew this, and I think we should be aware of this as well.

I'm sure there'll be board games and card games available to play at GaryCon II--maybe even Connect Four or something like that. The point I'm trying to make is that GaryCon, or any other games fair, doesn't have to be something that your fianceƩ--and eventually (we hope) your wife--comes along with you and does something else like shopping or visiting the spa while you crawl through a dungeon or defend Stalingrad. Ideally, it would be something that the two of you would attend together and have fun--maybe together, maybe not, but it's something you would both look forward to, not something one or the other of you feels "dragged along."

I'm not saying that's what you're doing here--I'm just saying that there doesn't have to be an artificial division between "gamer" (you) and "non-gamer" (your fianceƩ). You could both go to GaryCon, and you could both play games. Maybe even together.

And wouldn't that be fun? :D

Any good links on hotels in the area?

Great news! I locked in a venue for Gary Con II. It will be at the Lodge on Geneva Ridge in Lake Geneva, WI. We will do 3 full days of gaming goodness starting 19 March at 0900 and ending 21 March at 1700. The Gary Con room rate is $79.00 a night (plus 8 bucks tax of some kind, so $88). The Lodge is a nice resort hotel and will be an excellent setting for Gary Con II. Most importantly though- gaming is open 24 hours in the main hall during the con. So there will be no premature end to any adventure or game.
So look out fellow chariot racers! Lucius Maximus is going to win definitively (again) this year!

Pre-registration will be up on the site soon. I am going to ask for a $20 donation to the Gygax Family Memorial for a 3 day badge. Register early because I am going to allow event registration online for those people that have pre-registered- likely one event per day. This will allow you to lock in that space at the sought after game. I will post more in the coming days as I solidify events and information.

    Cheers!

    Luke
