A few random pics I grabbed that others took: Left to right - Geekpreacher, ExTSR (Frank), Brian and meself. Thurs afternoon at the CON - GP, me, grodog, Donovan and Patrick. Snow Sat morning. Jean Pierre Ruvanne (yellow 3) driving the Joest Porsche again this year - taking a sharp turn in 3rd gear! grodog's Castle Greyhawk Black resevoir ~ he and I discussing the current fate of my 7th level dwarf fighter!! 8O Still scrounging for pics as I didn't take very many shots this year!
Here's the pictures I took (I'm bad at forgetting I have a camera with me at conventions): Snow on the second day. It's becoming a Gary Con tradition. It had all melted by the evening, though. The Empty Chair ... A view into one of the gaming halls early on the first day. A joust! A Chainmail siege is imminent. Many PCs died here during Kenzer & Co.'s HackMaster sessions. MakerofThings from Dead Games Society GMing Star Wars Saga edition. The scale mail dice bag my wife made for me last week (and finished the first day of the con!)
That scale mail dice bag is AWESOME!!! Are the scales metal or plastic? -------------------------------------------------------------------- MakerofThings is in an Imperial uniform. Very cool. -------------------------------------------------------------------- What is that on the left (Would be on Gary's right) on Gary's table? --------------------------------------------------------------------
The scales are aluminum. Gotta watch out for the ones with burrs when you make it; they'll slice right through the yarn. -------------------------------------------------------------------- I believe it was a range finder. I don't recall if it had night vision capability.
You got me. I don't remember seeing it last year. This year, I saw it and wondered that exact same thing. It could be a night-vision monocular, but the same question stands ... unless you're gaming in darkness.
I do use glow in the dark dice. I try to only use glow in the dark dice. It is kind of my trademark. I've been looking for more. At first I thought it was a pencil sharpener. But looking closer that didn't fit.
I have a laser range-finder that I like to use to try to teach myself distances - for example I brought it to the medieval building reconstructed to make the Cloisters at the Met, and used it to calculate how long various hallways were so I can visualize that when I'm mapping "ten, twenty, thirty, forty feet, then there's some stairs leading up to a door.:"
Jedisoth, I must say that your dice bag is pretty sweet. -- MakerofThings always does it right with awesome costumes, he actually sells completes suits of Stormtrooper armor and weapons online. I particularly liked his Tony Stark outfit worn for his Marvel game at this last Garycon.
MakerOfThings is pretty cool. I was chatting with him during a break in his d20 CoC game. I didn't realize that it was the same guy who ran the SW game. His costumes were different enough for me not to recognize it was the same guy. So, that in itself was awesome.
A few photos to add to the mix: https://picasaweb.google.com/storycraft ... directlink Some of my favorites:
Here are some pictures I (and some others) took while at GCIII. And a few pictures I took of things I got there after I got home. Here I am getting ready to run one of two Circvs Maximvs heats for Tim Kask. It was so cool to use his big track! I hope to help again next year. Thanks Tim! I got to display the trophy to be won in the big race on the 2ed heat. This is the 4th Dimension event I ran at 8AM FRI. I was playing both people at the same time because they had never played before. Me and Harold Johnson hamming it up… Then a more traditional pose… Me and Frank Mentzer. Frank has such an awesome knowledge (and collection) of all kinds of games it is truly stunning. I was lucky enough to have Frank introduce me to a fast paced card game called Pit, it was loads of fun, especially with a large group! Thanks Frank! Me and Luke Gygax. Wow! I’m just lacking in words to convey the enjoyment you have brought all of us by bringing all of this together under the name of Gygax to celebrate what your father has giving us. Thank you! Me and Brendan. Brendan, you gave me a gift that has taken its place as one of my most treasured of items. An autographed by Gary Gygax copy of the Mythus core rulebook! I can’t say enough thanks! And if I recall correctly you were the only one at my demonstration who was aspiring to become a Journey Master. If you ever have any questions I can help with just PM me and I’ll be glad to help if I can. This was my DJMGRPG demonstration. I can’t wait to do another next year! After the demo and before my DJMGRPG: Changeling, Zone 6 event. I’m happily eating a con dog because running seven events in two days leaves little time between events… This nice lady whose name I think is Rose from Games By Gamers Publishing ([email protected]) gave me this cool dice bag. It is sturdy and when open you can see the majority (if not all) of your dice, alleviating the need for digging for a particular die. I really dig it, much better than my Crown Royal bag. Thank you Rose and GBG! Me and James. Thank you sir for all your hard work on the convention! I know you wanted to check the demo and Zone 6. We will get together and roll you up a HP and get down to gamming just before next year’s convention! Some gamming pictures… Luke & Frank playing Hive. Grizz & Luca. Pete preparing to run an event. Random pictures… My Star Trek Starship Combat Game event set up. More…
Bet the chain mail babe is popular. lol What is the game being played with all the buildings? This game: ---------------------------- That is a lot of dice you got. Any glow in the dark ones?
Thanks Xan. @Shalaban - I tend to collect/only use glow in the dark dice. My little quirk. I need to replace some of my more worn ones.
