Guess what I've found during my chess studies... here I started. Does anybody practice such a game? Are these rules correct? I've been not able to start a game on my PC, I'm not that good with java stuff, what do I need to make the java Dragonchess game run? I'm curios: are there enough players to set a tournament during a GaryCon? Some scheme to tickle your curiosity too.
Nah, that game does not have a "sky" and "underdark" level and - most important - it has not been introduced by Gary Gygax on Dragon Magazine #100
That was a game that Gary made up. Gord the Rogue played it in the first Gord story published, a short story in Dragon 100. The rules for the game were also included in that issue.
Funny! Especially if the tournament will need at least 5-6 chessboards (and chess clocks) in order to organize it. I contacted Anthony Valterra by Facebook, he have a set of rules to fix little gaps that he proposed to Gary himself and he gave me the idea to propose also a contest for the best self-made Dragonchess-board. If this contest will start we will probably have as many Dragonchess-board as the tournament needs. The problem of the clocks is still there. Does any chess club gather at the public library or elsewhere in Geneva Lake?
