Fall Gaming Hoopla is set for September 24th, 25th & 26th, 2010. (Circle those dates on your calendars!) They have a new venue & it is located at....
    Johnstown Community Center
    9937 E. County Road A
    Janesville, WI. 53546
(Way out in the 'boonies.' Out in the country.)
Von Deekin's, "Wings of War", Flying Circus will be there for those that need an aerial gaming 'fix.' This event continues to GROW & gets more popular every time it is offered at local conventions. (And, of course, it will be at Garycon 3 in multiple timeslots!!-I CAN'T WAIT!!)
You can gather more information about Fall Hoopla at, http://www.gaminghoopla.com BUT, AT THIS MOMENT THEY HAVEN'T UPDATED THEIR WEBSITE! I got the information from their guild at Board Game Geek. (http://www.boardgamegeek.com)
I have been to numerous Fall & Spring Hooplas', as well as their mini-hooplas, & it's a BLAST!! If your a local, or JUST happen to be in the neighborhood in September, don't miss out on this great weekend of gaming.
If you would like more information on this convention please feel free to PM me here.

OKAY!! Event submission is now open for the Fall Hoopla, 2010. If you are interested in running an event, (& I know you are), click on over to http://www.gaminghoopla.com/ & submit your event. The gaming begins at 4:00pm on friday, September 24th thru the 26th.
This is a 'FUNTASTIC' (IT"S A WORD!! I JUST MADE IT UP!) weekend of gaming, raffles, food & all that other good stuff we gamers love! Von Deekin will be there running multiple 'Wings of War' events, so, you just gotta be there!!
    CHECK IT OUT!!
    Later,
    The Keeper

Hey, does anyone know of an RPG/Gaming pushpin map or site where you can search by Zip? If not do you think it would be worthwhile to start one similar to the Gary Con map I started? May be list Con name, month(s) each year, and game types focused on?

I don't know of any such websites. Sounds like a good idea!

There are such websites, but they are usually incomplete, or somewhat outdated, as the compiler lost interest. (not pushpin/zip based, but by state/town, anyway)

I'd search/mine/verify some of that existing info as your starting point, if you proceed.

I tried to get people to submit cons on Dragonsfoot to make a newer list, but didn't get many responses.

The best list, which is not that complete but seems updated, is found on Steve Jackson's Game Site.

Thanks GP, I'll add that to the list of resources in case I move forward. I like the idea of a visual search method, more natural to me, than a list, even a searchable list.

Mordrin, I'll let you know if I proceed, perhaps you will want to collaborate/help. I loose interest in stuff all the time, so I can see how keeping it up to date could be tough for folks - get an idea, play around a while, move on...

Aaaand for all those that might be interested, Fal-Con is a one-day event a Garycon II attendee is hosting in Connecticut. Stop on over to http://www.fal-con.org for all the details. I'll be running a game, though I'm still up in the air as to whether or not it'll be All Flesh Must be Eaten or Babylon 5.

Best of luck to those envolved. Hope they gather enough support to keep it going. If I was closer I'd be there. Not only do I support my F.L.G.S. but I support my F.L.G.C.'s. :)
