Okay, so who knew/knows that there is a Dungeons & Dragons pinball machine?

Who has seen one? Who has played one?

2,000 were made in 1987, but in that era pinball machines were often destroyed when they were no longer earning well, so it is hard to say how many still exist. The ones that do exist are often in really rough condition because a mylar (plastic) coating that was placed on the playfield to protect it tends to both get hazy and bubble. When the mylar bubbles it tends to damage the art work. Complete machines with the flashing "topper" (a unit that goes on top of the normal backbox) are even harder to find.

It is a very challenging game due to its very unique "Magic Save" feature.

I'm pretty sure I played one at the Great America amusement park, in Gurnee IL circa 1988.

I think Ernie might have had one at his house in the 80s- though I can't recall clearly. I know I played it before. Ernie loved pinball- I was a video game kid. He even had a Siamese cat named Pinball and owned a Homerun baseball pinball machine in the late 1970s.

I definitely played this game, I believe at an arcade that used to exist down the road from where I work presently. They had a long row of pinball machines, each one more challenging. Their machines took a lot of abuse since it was the biggest arcade/pool hall around. Eventually, they rid themselves of the pool tables -- that's how popular things got with the coin op stuff. Unfortunately, I don't think I played the D&D game all that much. I, too, was more attracted to the flashy video games.
