    Glad to hear this.

I was very much wanting to play in that game, but couldn't muster the energy or where-with-all to join. I'm mad at myself for allowing some party gamers to ply me with excellent liquor on Saturday night and stayed up too late.

    Next year for sure!

    :)

This was after a bender reaching well until dawn- and then only 3 hours of sleep. I was probably still slightly intoxicated during the play. I just paid for my exertions at the airport later in the day.

I got to play in Eric's Friday DJ session. I must say that it helped me understand the system a lot better. So much so, I think I learned how it works, for the most part. Character creation....I'm still fuzzy on that...haha

I got there too late for Eric's Friday game, but stayed for the Sunday games! Great times!!! ^__^

If you are Curtis' friend, we missed each other, yet again.

I am disappointed that I missed this game for the second year running. I heard that Shalaban ran an excellent game and is well-versed in the DJ rules system (quite an accomplishment IMHO). I really want to play next year!

I was really happy to pick up one of the DJ books that I did not have from the vendor. One of these days I'm going to play this game....maybe GaryCon next year! It did look like a blast.

Wow! Thanks ever so much for the kind words!!! :D I am glad you had fun! All I can think to say is-

I love E.G.G., I love his DJMGRPG, I love Gary Con, and I love all the friends that gather under such banners for the celebration of these things as a whole! :D I cannot imagine a better medium for the telling of stories then E.G.G. + DJMGRPG + GC + those there.

For certain I will endeavor to attend GCIII with a new and original story from the Kingdom of Rome for the adventurous seeking a better understand of the Heka permeated world of Ærth c. 1011 AAF.

I'm the guy who sat by and observed in the last gaming event (run by you, Shalaban), giving my character to someone I'd no doubt could be of more service to the party.

It'd be neat to perhaps play next year, if you could do up a pc for me that's as idiot-friendly as possible (maybe a fighter-type or some such). You ran a very good, animated, and entertaining game, sir - the hat is off to you.

Shalaban- I'm really interested in the Witch Hunter character I picked up. Is that one of your regular players' characters? Or an old one? What is the story behind this guy?

    Thank you very much! :D

I will have a HP just for you next year sir! ;)

Eric, the adventure you ran was enough to make me try my hand at the DJ system.

I just wanted to make an update on some DJ product I recently acquired. I was able to pick up the first two books, Mythus and Mythus Magick, on eBay along with a GM screen for a very reasonable price. I also picked up the world setting, Epic of Aerth, at GaryCon along with one of the magazines.

I must say that I really like the world setting. I was somewhat familiar with it because I'd read the books that Gary Gygax wrote on that particular world and I liked them a great deal. I guess the reason I liked it so much was because I've had similar ideas for a campaign setting in the past and it seems to me that this setting could easily be adjusted to another system if one so desired.

However, I am curious about finding all the other books in the series along with any of the magazines. Does anyone know of a particular place one might pick these up reasonably? I've used Alibris in the past but some of the prices I've found are astronomical and I'm just not willing to complete my collection at this price. So, with that in mind, if anyone knows of any used game retailers please feel free to PM me.

I also would like to see any discussion about people running this rules system. My gaming time is rather limited right now but I do have time to read the board and check things out so it would be great if I could get an overview.

(I want to kick myself for not picking up more of the DJ books at GC II. I realized when I got home that I could have picked up a few more without straining my budget too far.)

Thanks in advance for any help.

    GP

Much appreciated - but I assume this is *not* saying you'll have a hit point just for me next year (hopefully!) - so what's HP stand for? Pardon the ignorance.

Heroic Persona. Dad developed a seperate jargon for all his games to differentiate them from his other stuff. So it is a DJ character. Soon you will learn about STEEP points, joss and heka

Do I sense the beginnings of a Dangerous Journeys revival?

I don't know about a DJ revival but I can't help but emphasize how good the world of Aerth sourcebook can be. It's really useful and the concept behind using a parallel earth really helps because it allows your players to jump in without having to read a ton of material themselves. If they're familiar with myth and legend plus a few ancient cultures it will be easy for them to pick up.

This is one of the reasons I enjoyed using the Conan setting for a time.

Yeah, Shalaban's DJ game was very good. He *claims* that "my" group did better than most at solving his mystery. I look forward to trying to get in to one of his games next year.

I kinda like the percentile aspect of DJ since it allows for more subtle variation in skills. However having to multiple and divide those percentage on a regular basis is a bit taxing for all but the most math-whizical among us (I'm just a math-midling).

I thought I had that game system, but apparently not. I will have to see about acquiring this system, even if I never play regularly.

What were those skill check categories and corresponding multipliers? What is the range for an unadjusted skill check, 0-100? Can skills go over 100?

If you want to pick up some of the books, I've found out you get some really, really cheap through Troll and Toad. I saw one for about $2 and I saw the "core books" for $22 on eBay.

Thanks GP, is the "really, really cheap" stuff also really really beat up or just cheap perhaps due to lack of demand?
