My Gen Con game was so successful, I'm planning on doubling -- perhaps tripling -- the number of games for Gary Con. Get your Sun Swords out!
You know what would be a neat "series"? Running a set of cartoon-inspired games on Saturday morning. Thundarr/Mutant Future D&D cartoon/OD&D Scooby Doo/Cthulhu or Chill Voltron/I dunno, Star Frontiers of something...
I wanted to do a superheroes game using second-string afternoon/Saturday morning cartoon heroes (Captain Caveman, Jabber Jaw, Under Dog, Yankee Poodle, Fantom Cat, etc.) teaming up to stop a plot by the most nefarious of super-villians: Scrappy Doo! Haven't decided on a system yet. Maybe old Marvel FASERIP can do it...
I've been wanting to play Thundarr the Barbarian for some time and the idea of Saturday morning themed cartoon RPGs on a Saturday morning at GaryCon sounds like a very good idea to me.
Me too. Maybe that's when I'll run some Scooby Doo Cthulhu. "A Spooky Night for an Elder Fright" Velma receives a mysterious letter claiming her to be a potential heir to the fortune of Captain Obed Marsh... provided she stays the night in the Captain's allegedly haunted Innsmouth mansion. But when the other four heirs start to disappear during the night, will Scooby and the gang be able to solve the mystery of Innsmouth? This may call for two Scooby Snacks!
Mmm, seeing as I'm already running my Scooby adventure on Friday night, I'm thinking that maybe I'll do a Johnny Quest/Top Secret adventure on Saturday morning. Or maybe the other way around.
Let's see... Challenge of the Superfriends using the DC Heroes system? The Herculoids using Gamma world/Mutant Future? G.I. Joe using ACE Agents? (written by a pal of mine) The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Show using Toon? The Real Ghostbusters using Ghostbusters? (duh) Or any game run using the Cartoon Action Hour system? From 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., it could become The Gary Con Saturday Morning Cartoon RPG Extravaganza! (Sponsored by Post Super Sugar Smacks, Kellogg's Pop Tarts, Hot Wheels, and Toys R Us)
