The Story At Roadside America This is the first I've heard of this place--not a theme park, but a plot of land filled with D&D-inspired sculptures and constructions that a local investment company president built for his deceased son, who was a big fan of the game. Looks really nifty to me--perhaps someone here who lives closer could provide a more detailed review.
Yes...that area, at least. I've BEEN to Carbondale, and never knew about that place. Well...its a cool destination...I have a new motorcycle...hmm...
We (Me, wife, and son) got a chance to stop and visit that place about 4 years ago. There is a lot of folk-art style sculptures; most of which you (well your kids) can climb on. The castle is pretty cool with lots of passages and even a few secret passages that the kids can find. When we went, many of the displays were in need of repair and looking rather worn. a number of the passages in the castle are too small for an adult to go through, but there are quite a few benches in shady spots for the parents to relax. Definitely a place worth going out of your way to see.
