Are you still in need of many more events? I submitted three slots (two of one game, one of another) but could add another game if pressed.
I'm thinking about running Arcane Legions at Garycon 2. If anyone would be interrested in seeing this as an event please let me know. I'm hoping Santa brings me this at Christmas. (Hint for Mrs. Claus.) You can check it out at their website....... http://arcanelegions.com/ I think it would fit in very well. It is only two player, but I'm sure I can fudge the rules & make it four players. Should fit into a 2-3 hour time slot. Haven't played it yet, but hope to at the next Mini-Hoopla. Write more about it then.
I've also tossed around the idea of submitting an "Axis & Allies Naval Miniatures" event. Any thoughts on this :?:
I have never played the Naval Miniatures variant, but I used to be into the original Axis and Allies and would certainly play either.
Last Call for Events- I am finalizing the Event Catalogue for Gary Con II now. So if you want to run an "official" event please submit your event by Monday 4 JAN. Don't be shy! Share your favorite game or scenario with the rest of us. It is relatively quick and painless to do- just click on the Event Submission link on the Gary Con home page. There is no restriction as to what games can be submitted- mini's, board, card and role-playing games are welcome. In return you will be part of the elite force of Official Gary Con Game Masters and have some as of yet undetermined rewards and benefits Thanks to all of you that have already submitted events! Luke
Now that the event submissions are over I had a thought. I was watching the movie "In Harms Way" the other day & pulled out my A & A naval mini's out. It's do-able! I can provide two scenarios of the Rockwell Torrey's final battle from the movie. The Yamato, with a couple of cruisers & their destroyer escort come barrelling down the straights to meet up with the American forces. First scenario, a group of P.T. Boats & a minefield. Then the second scenario, the main American force commanded by Rear Admiral Torrey; Three cruisers with destroyer escorts. Maybe I'll do this as a seperate sign-up at the table that I park my body at. Sounds to cool to pass up. We'll see.
I "think" I got my event submission in, although I am unsure. I designed a (true to my general nature when it comes to design) new adventure, using 1st Edition AD&D in honor of the occasion, that I plan to run at the show. I have printed ONE (1) full production copy of this adventure; a personal copy for myself. Under copyright law (which I fully support) NO further copies can ever be produced. I plan to run this adventure, for up to 6 (possibly 8) players at the show. I then plan to give my personal copy to the show to auction off. I don't want to post too many details on the adventure, as that tends to ruin the mystery that often winds up being a central part of any that I create. I will say this: 1) Its for low level characters, including startups. 2) Smarter players will survive; "stritcly combat oriented" adventurers will not. 3) Yes, there's plenty of combat, and not a lot of traps... its... different. Hope to see some of you at the table. XXOOCC
If by sleep you mean consume more libations than my body can tolerate and pass out, sure do. Otherwise, no. How often do you get to meet and game with the original masters of the sub-culture (well, maybe regularly for you Wiscaaaansin folks)? Sleep is for the weak and the overly intoxicated.
Well, let's see.....I played Dragon Lairds with Tom Wham & James Ward last sunday. Guess that counts.
I believe Luke mentioned somewhere around the end of January, begining of February. ONLY 63 DAYS 'TIL GARYCON 2!!!!!
You lucky @&%$! There is so little gaming action in DC, nevermind with the OSC (Old School Crew). I mean, there are plenty of friendly games going on amongst groups, and a few games that happen at the FLGS, but mostly, it's the new stuff which doesn't hold my interest as much. And gaming cons? Nadda. Nicht. Uh, uh. Couple that with a Pit Fiend (or another Alu Demon) in the Succubus' oven, and my gaming prospects are looking bleak...
What's the problem? You can always put some solitare games on next years Christmas list, OR, just pull out a multi-player game & play by yourself. I do it all the time. Although, it does help that I suffer from multi-personalities; :? :x  SEE!!!
Some of us... ahem.. also play online both chat and turn based games... ahem... FREQUENTLY. No, the experience is not identical to a kitchen table, but in some ways its better. In some ways, it is certainly missing something... but it is irrefutably a blast. XXOOCC
Is this where I'm supposed to mention Trade Wars? (You & your subtle hints. ) Yeah, I haven't played on-line yet, but there seems to be (cough!) some sort of problem (cough!) with some certain website (cough!) & logging on to it. Did that ever (cough!) get addressed? (Must be coming down with something.)
