Indeed. I look forward to meeting some of the Hero's of TSR and Dragonsfoot all at once! Both have done a great service to gamers the world over.
If Zeb Cook is coming next year, i will ask him to run Star Frontiers. I had a great time playtesting that with Mike Gray, Jim Ward and Dad many years ago. That brings back memories
Got a new module with unique, but old school rules (basically 1.5 AD&D) I'd like to run and reiterate my interest in running a tournament round or two, as well. Tsojcanth would rock.
I think I am going to roll out an old tournament module for Gary Con II. I think it will be a blind AD&D tournament module sign-up to discourage any pre-reading by players. There are some good ones out there that I am sure folks would get a kick out of playing again- or for the first time. Luke
The C&C Society will again be present to honor Gary's gaming legacy. I'll be looking to run a C&C version of a classic module - perhaps Ghost Tower of Inverness or G1 Steading of the Hill Giant :ugeek:
If you honoring Gary's legacy, then you have to run G1! I would say S1, but that one can be a bit brutal!! But, it's perfect for a con!
Yep - looking through last night I came to the same conclusion - G1 is the way to go on this... So next year's Gary Con, I will be there representing the C&C Society with a C&C version of G1 Steading of the Hill Giant Chief!
That is awesome. C&C Society is always welcome! I would really like to see that happen. Either module would be great. I will be in touch as we get nearer to see how many players and how many rounds etc. I will look to get that squared away after Gen Con atleast 4 months out from Gary Con to give people time to sign up electronically (hopefully). Luke
Okay! I've finally reached my decision, at least for now. The events I would like to run at Garycon 2 are as follows; Friday: "Soldier, Emperor", by Avalanche Press. Number of players: Maximum of 7, Time slot: 11:00am to 5:00pm. Saturday: "Axis & Allies: Anniversary Edition", by Avalon Hill. Number of Players: 6 per game, two seperate games available, Time Slot: 10:00am to ? Sunday: "Wings of War", by Fantasy Flight Games. Number of Players: 12 per slot. Time Slots: 10:00am to 12:00pm & 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
Correction: I will be running three sessions of OD&D (6 OLB) for up to 12 players each; 4 to 6 hrs One Friday night One Sat beginning right after lunch One Sun AM (if interest justifies) All three will be new adventure written for GC II Sat. Night: Byron Memorial CIRCVS MAXIMVS race; any racers from GC I attending GC II can have slot for the asking; 12 slots total--
Greetings Tim, Don't forget to mention the Circvs Maximvs Saturday night. Although the winner of that game is known well in advance of any play. I will plug you into the event planner and let those wise gamers that pre-reg the opportunity to reserve a slot in your OD&D. I am not sure how I will handle the Circvs Maximvs event. Maybe auction off the slots? or draw lots? Perhaps arm wrestling? Luke aka Lucius Maximus
I will run some Swords & Wizardry events. I won an Honorable Mention for the Fight On! Dungeon Design contest in 2008 so I may run that adventure. It was put together by rolling randomly on the DMG 1e charts and then extrapolating the results into the history of the dungeon and the goals of the current inhabitants. It was fun to write and playtest, so I expect it will be fun for the attendees. I may also run the dungeon from the Basic Blue Book too. I always loved that one! My first dungeon as a player and then as a DM. I will have to pour over my Pegasus magazines and see if something from those would be fun to run!
I will be running an Aces and Eights event. Probably Saturday for 4-8 players. I would do about 6 hours I think, maybe 8 thanks Jerimy
I know the Kenzer Krewe will be running some Hackmaster and if I can ever get the rules down well enough I may try and run some as well. Of course, if there are any old or new boardgames anyone is interested in seeing please let me know and I'll see about running one of those instead. Of course, I do enjoy running The Great Space Race and if there is an interest please let me know.
