Both, Luca & Jon Franco, were devoted players. Each day during Von Deekin's Wings of War, Jon Franco just had to play the Red Baron. Being a 'mix it up' kind of GM, I decided to place Luca on the opposing team. SO, who better to face the Red Baron than Snoppy. By day two that was their new nicknames. Everyone had a good time with it. :D
Maybe next year Snoopy & The Red Baron will join forces to take on all would be aces.
We'll see............... (I wonder how they feel about flying a Gotha?)

Very true! I, too, hope you guys make it back for GC3! I'll buy you guys another round or two! It was playing WaW with you two (and the Deek-meister)!

I think an 'after-flight round in the lounge' is a great idea! Then we can stumble back downstairs for an afternoon flight. Then, back upstairs for another round & FALL downstairs, try to find the table & pour ourselves into our cockpits for another flight. WOW! I'm exhausted just thinking about it!!

I'm looking forward to trying my hand at Von Deekin's Wings of War this year! The famous World War I flying ace with his trusty Sopwith Camel will impress the French madamoiselles, who will then join him as he down his sorrows over a mug of liquid courage, readying himself for another day and another duel in the sky...

Oh sorry, I slipped into a Snoopy moment there.

Incidentally, lucailario, were you the Italian gent I had the pleasure of meeting outside for a smoke last year? I was the one who told you I had a co-worker who came from Bari.

Luca has a mustache, Gian Franco does not. (Did that help?)

What was the final attendee count last year? How many different games?, etc...

You would have to get those numbers from the powers that be, but I know on saturday there had to be, at least, a couple hundred people there. As far as events went there was always 9 or 10 of something going on & plenty of open gaming. Look at it this way, Garycon is like a GIANT family reunion, including 3rd & 4th cousins. :)

I don't have the exact numbers at my fingertips, but we had roughly 245 attendees last year. This is definitley larger. Chris has a tally of pre-reg which will account for a portion of the attendance, but many just show up. The room reservations at the Lodge are roughly double last year's number. I am estimating (through building detailed models with complex logarithms) Gary Con III will have anywhere between 300-375 people.

We have more events in the catalogue this year and plenty of open gaming, so the mix of games will be diverse and numerous. There are rare games that are not often played- Giant Le Mans race game, Battle of Helm's Deep, Dangerous Journeys, Metamorphosis Alpha (kewl!), unpublishes Tom Wham games and Circus Maximus. As well as many staples all D&D (OD&D through 3E D&D), Castles and Crusades, Hack Master, etc.

This year we will have the Bard of Bristol, Dan Marcotte, entertaining us and an expanded vendor area. It will be a good celebration and guarenteed fun for gamers of all types.

Is event sign up closed? My group (5 of us) bought our pre-registration badges last night but didn't see any way to pre-register for events. The Kursk miniatures game looks really interesting and we wanted to secure a seat if there are any left open.

We are really looking forward to this. I brought my step son last year and he is super excited to attend again.
