Just curious the extent of your influence on Unearthed Arcana, if, indeed, you remember or ever knew. You are credited for “magic [items?] and spells”.

Of course! I played D&D regularly with my Dad and I was his sounding board for many ideas and items. I liteally read his novels as he typed the pages on his typewriter and playtested just about everything with him. Sometimes as we played, I came up with ideas for spell variants- usually Melf was in a tight spot, low on spells and I wanted to try to modify one that I had memorized. Of course my Dad never let me modify them there, but gave me credit for researching them after he took the core idea and developed it into a new spell.

So I did no writing per se, but I helped generate ideas and test how things worked in actual play. That is what he gave me credit for.
