As some of you know, each year I write an original adventure for Gary Con.

    Here is the challenge:
In 50 words or less, give me elements you'd like to see an adventure about, containing, concerning, etc. (Does not have to be complete sentences.)

It can be setting, it can be mission, it can be specific monsters, it can be all of these or other parts you'd like to see in an adventure as well.

I will select the five most intriguing entries and post them here on a poll thread and the members of the site can pick the one they find most interesting and I will wrap (warp) the adventure accordingly. The author of the winning proposal will get credit in the adventure as well as a Contributor's Copy of the Actual adventure (less than 15 copies of any kind are ever made--very collectible). All rights to the final product stay with me; your credit will be "Inspired by suggestions from----".

The deadline for submissions is Halloween.

The voting will close on Thanksgiving.

    Bring it on....

Ancient lore tells of a mysterious island that appears, from the mists, every 'X' (amount of time). The island remains in the here & now for 'X' (amount of time). Rumors also say in the center of the isle lay the ruins of a religious structure, buried beneath years of vegetation, & all those that have ever explored the island have never returned.
Now, an unknown patron proposes an expedition to...................
    The Phantom Isle

A labyrinth of passages and chambers, carved from the rock, in some fashion.
With stone and crystal guardians of great wealth and magicks, hidden in the deep,
Not a living or undead creature inside.
Perhaps the magic inside is so ancient that it seems like technology,
    Or not.

    - lizardmen, hydra, cult of tiamat
    - wilderness
    - treasure map fragment lures
    - rival NPC parties/explorers (most evil, some good/neutral)
    - well-hidden underground river entrance
    - undersea island cult HQ with 2-4 dungeon levels
    - planar travel
    - ancient, unspeakable doom
    - no one escapes unchanged
    - few return

Do we have to give it all away on the forums? My particular idea, if put here, might give any players an unfair advantage (or at least detract from the surprise/anticipation).

Think if someone described their movie idea in this way:
Dead people, kid who can see them, psychologist helping kid, turns out psychologist is dead all along and doesn't know it

Reading that, you might not have enjoyed the Sixth Sense quite as much.

I am looking for elements, not scripts.
Kind of like on "Whose Line is It" ? (Brit version, esp.); throw me a bunch of stuff and we will vote on the neatest bunch of stuff and I will write an adventure using that stuff. "Nuff stuff?

Bands of giants have been raiding the civilized lands
Upon pain of death the pc's must investigate and put an end to he raids..

Oh, wait! Darn it! I think that one is taken... ;)

    Seriously though,

I know dragons are old hat and used a lot, but I've wanted to do a "dragon-based" adventure for a while - and do it justice. Maybe you can give it a whirl?:

-Ancient Blue living in a deserted desert city
-Lots of desert thralls and allies (bought and paid for with his sizable hoard!) to slow a party of would be dragon-hunters
    -ambushes, traps and cunning strategy

Dragons are smart and should be played that way. Not just as dumb creatures waiting to be caught unawares in a cave. Plus, I am all about desert settings for some reason lately.

    A dungeon with paradoxes.

    Lol...keepin' it real, Frank?

Suggestion: A dungeon based on the scene on the cover of the original PHB. And maybe somewhere in there, also the cover of the original DMG.

As this doesn't seem to be working as I had hoped it would, I have come up with a plan on my own.

I am going to preview/debut an adventure concept that has not been done yet, to the best of my knowledge: real-time adventuring.
