Seeing as we are just a few short weeks away from openning the Event Submissions I thought I would put my ideas out there for people to mull over:

    1) "Wings of War" w/ Von Deekin's homerules:
I have expanded my home-brewed rules for this great game which now include cloud banks, mid-air collisions, pilot special abilities, ace statis & (with the release of "Flight of the Giants") bomber intercept & bomber escort missions. I have also revised the critical damage effects rules & adjusted my 'random aircraft tables' to reflect the new releases from its publisher, Nexus Games.
I hope to run two events daily. An early morning introductory flight, followed by an early afternoon mission, each event to run 2 hours long. The afternoon flight will NOT have the pre-flight instuctions, it will be for players who already know Von Deekin's Homerules & I MIGHT run this as a tournament, with prizes for the top scoring aces, depending on how many people sign up.
I also HOPE to have 'free' copies of Von Deekin's homerules available to players who may want a copy.
(I currently own enough copies of this game to effectively put 108 aircraft on the gaming table so we don't have to worry about how many people sign up, but I would like to keep it under twenty per event.) ;)

    2) Axis & Allies: 1940 Global War:
This one I plan to run late saturday afternoon. It combines A & A Pacific 1940 with A & A Europe 1940. It will be a mamoth game, the mapboard is now almost six feet long, & can have up to seven players. Running possibly 8+ hours I would advise only true 'grognards' to sign up for this enormous event. Once again, if enough people sign up I may convert this into a tournament with prizes awarded. (& after playing 8+ hours they will be GOOD prizes)

    3) Fortress America: (Milton Bradly Gamemaster series)
I want to run this late friday afternoon. I only have one copy of the game which would limit it to four players. It is a great classical game that is loads of fun. If anyone wants to play this one you better put your name on the 'dotted-line' fast!

There you have it! Let me know what you think.......... :?:

To Cool!! I hope Luca & Gian Franco make it too. We'll, fer sure, have to do the Next Door Pub again on thursday night, now that Luca knows the proper way to eat an Italian Beef.
Will your bud, Jimmy, be coming up? He cracks me up.
    Mama said to say, "HI!."
    Gonna be great seeing everyone!

    (You so funny!)
Ticket was bought some time ago, & as far as Security Chiefs, they shake in their boots at the sight of my shadow.
(You really need to work on that John Wayne impersonation.) :D
We Post Whores keep people outta trouble.
(See your reading this right now & your in no trouble at all!)

In an effort to shake off my shady past as Jr. post whore, I will anser this whole column of posts with but a single one.

Yes indeed it would be cool if our Italian friends are able to make it again this year. I am always up for showing our European brothers how to drink properly. ;-)

As it stands now, Jimmy has expressed interest in coming and he certainly has first "dibbs" amongst my fellow nerdlings.

Tell mama I said "Hello darlin'. It's nice to see you. It's been a looong time..." :D

And Dale, we are the security. ;) I just stand behind Deek and my friend Jimmy and hurl insults. works every time!

Now where did I put that spray can of 'IMP BE GONE'?

Okay, I pretty much wanna be in all of those games. I like Axis and Allies, I like Fortress America and I can't wait to try Wings of War. But event registration hasn't started yet has it?

OKAY!! I've added another game.
Sunday from noon-4:pm I will run a "Cave Troll" tournament. This is a fun, easy to learn, but, difficult to master game for 2-4 players that takes about 45-60 minutes to play. We will play 3 rounds & whoever has compiled the highest score is the winner, & takes the prize.

Okay, I've fallen in love again with a game series, nothing new for a game-aholic like me. It's Academy Games "Conflict of Heroes." It's a great tactical game of WWII era combat & it's packed with everything; T-34's, Tigers, cavalry, artillery, Stukas & Shturmoviks, trucks & halftracks, minefields & bunkers, & the list goes on. Think of this series of games as a doppleganger of the old "Squad Leader" series but being much more simplified. (A single firefight, scenario, can be played in as little as an hour.)
I recently watched a video from Essen Spiel 2010 (on Board Game Geek) which featured the series developer Uwe Eickert explaining the game & it's compononets. (Great interview.)
Anyhover, I was thinking about running this as an event on Sunday morning. Wondering if there would be anyone interested in learning about this awesome game system?
