I remember the day I said to myself, "if I don't go to this event, I'll likely regret it forever." I was at work, just got a message from the dndgeek hisself, sat staring at the email for a moment and just went for the time off request form needed to get out of that hell. The message was forwarded from some post you made Luke, on some site promoting the event. It wasn't so much the list of guests or potential games, it was more of the way you made it feel like a real "old school" styled gathering of gamers to honor your dad.

I know I fit into a huge category of older gamers that owe a lot to Gary for getting us into a game that we've never let go of and yet give much credit to him for the friends we've made, the experiences we've had and maybe even the lives we've led. It's an awful lot to say about a man a good majority of us had never even met (me included)! You've heard it many times before, but that's how Gary touched upon us all.

Anyhow, enough sentiment. GaryCon Was a great experience, from the games to the auction, the Headhunt to seeing an old friend for the first time in nearly 10 years, the jailbreak and the 33 hours of driving, I'll remember it all and thank Gary once again for the game that brings us all together. For next year, we'll be bringing more Connecticut gamers to fill more seats, sling more dice and meet new friends.

    Can't wait!

    Sir Jon

Wouldn't miss it for the world and plan on bringing some friends that regreted not making it to GCI.

Need to go easy on the 25 cent brownies next time though

    To all concerned:

Thanks for the Convention, thanks for this site, and thanks for all the time, effort, and money that went in to it. :!:

When I was at Gary Con I, I did not meet a single person who was not polite, helpful, and downright friendly. I immediately felt at home and amongst friends. :) I believe that all involved wanted that and that is what was done! So thanks for that as well!!

Gary Con 2010 will be bigger but I think it will maintain that same feeling of camaraderie because the people who attend truly want to be there for gaming as opposed to other endeavors that one might find at a convention geared more toward the economic growth of the industry. Although I do believe that conventions such as this one are as vital to the industry in that they promote the finest, purest and most robust examples of game play to be found.

So I’ll see you all there in 2010! :D

Is it sad that I forgot I was even signed up here?

Cool though, glad everything migrated over well from the old site.
