Astral travel? Nope. Shunted off to the Ethereal Plane for a small jaunt. Bad mojo!

We just had our fifth session of my DoctorStrangeRoll game*. After burning down the entire adventure locale in U1: The Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh BEFORE discovering the necessary clues that would lead them to the second part of the adventure, I've marooned them on the Isle of Dread. Once they escape the island, we'll move onto phase two of the campaign: Basic D&D Mid-Level. I'm not sure which adventures I'll use for the mid-level, possibly White Plume Mountain, Oasis of the White Palm, or Master of the Desert Nomads.

*In case I haven't mentioned it, you don't want to read one of my previous posts on the subject, or you've forgotten, the DoctorStrangeRoll Campaign is a blogged campaign in which I run my group through classic adventures using each edition of D&D (Basic, AD&D, AD&D 2nd ed., Pathfinder, and 4E...maybe D&D Next if it's out before we're tired of the campaign). The campaign doesn't have the normal continuity one I would make up on my own would have since it's really more about comparing and contrasting the different editions of D&D, rather than telling an extended story.

I'm in a group that is playing 50 Fathoms - a nautical/pirate type campaign in Savage Worlds. We play every 5-6 weeks, so this has been moving slow.

We rotate the GM chair in my Monday night group, so that has been a mix of Savage Worlds, nWoD, Pathfinder, and a few other odds and ends. We recently did the D&D Next playtest.

I've been playing some Marvel Heroic Roleplaying with my kids and nieces.

The NEW Hackmaster. There is nothing funny about this game, it's SERIOUS old-school gaming! If you haven't checked it out lately, you should. They have done some incredible work!

Playing in a Game of Thrones campaign, great setting.
Will be running a Hackmaster camping for my daughter, my buddy and his son. Can't wait to finish reading the awesome new HM book I got in the mail a few weeks back.

I'm playing in a game of the new Hackmaster on Google Hangouts. Hangouts works fairly well and gives a bit of the tabletop experience. Of course, I must say I'd still rather play face to face.

Started a Dungeon Crawl Classics game to tighten the rules additions that will be published in Tales From the Fallen Empire. So far so good. =)
Next on my list is to run a Swords & Wizardry one-shot and give Jaws of the Six Serpents a spin (looks like a fun game).

Well our game is still going fast and furious, with some new (old) plots unfurling after some momentous happenings. A schism in the church of Pelor? The City of Greyhawk arresting magicians? Rioting in the streets between priesthoods? What could be going on?

Next week, with the holiday, it looks like a night off to play Cosmic Encounters, the current edition, with all the supplements. Fun and entertaining. Recommended.

I'm also considering a Babylon 5 game in the near future, just for a small jaunt into the science fiction world. Anyone play this?

Right now, I got nothing going on. Might be able to get a regular friday night game going with the kids now that school has started and football practice schedules have solidified (I'm coaching my son's 3rd/4th grade team).

Also looking at a possible weekend boardgame night once a month with my old D&D buds.

If none of you have tried the Roll20 application for Goggle+ Hangouts, I'd highly recommend it. It has been a great tool in our online game of Hackmaster and almost gives a face-to-face feel of the game. The best part is you can see the agony on the player when their PC takes a ton of damage!

Anyone else played THUNDERSTONE? I have a friend that brings it over on nights we're short players. It's an interesting take on the deckbuilding/card game adventure.

Even though we haven't kept up with the log as well, the Wednesday Night LGG group is still going strong. We usually play AD&D, and one week of the month play Star Frontiers, but this month the group agreed to be my guinea pigs for the Mazes and Minotaurs game I'll be running next month.

The group would love to play Star Frontiers more often, and there are several folks who want to try the Doctor Who RPG. So many games, so little time....

I was having such horrible attendance problems with my Dr. StrangeRoll experiment (play classic adventure using each D&D edition for comparison), that I basically started over with a D&D 4E Eberron game back in September and decided to play it every session instead of every other session. The attendance problems have mostly gone away (swapping out a couple of players helped). Now I'm stuck GMing a game for a system I'm not particularly fond of, but it was judged as one of the easier systems to use to introduce a new player to gaming (my wife), specifcially D&D.

So, I plan on wrapping up my D&D 4E game over the next several months, then put those books away again for a LONG time. While I can see the merits in the system (or at least, I see what other people like about it), I do not like it personally and will switch to Pathfinder and see how running Adventure Paths goes for me.

There was a time when I had plenty of free time in which I could write complex adventures and do it all myself. That time is NOT now. Eventually, I hope to introduce my group to games like Savage Worlds and FATE and get some more RP-heavy (vs. Combat & crunch-heavy) games going. It will be challenging; some of my players have trouble moving beyond games that require boardgame-style micromanagement of miniatures.

One of the main reasons I switched from RPG's to boardgames. Seems like the older you get, the faster the clock moves. (& I agree whole-heartedly, Ken. "So many games, so little time.")

Currently, Play by post. Unseen Servant (Stonjuz over there)
Informally, Face to face ad&d 2.5, but my home group has had a tough go of it lately.

My Monday night game of AD&D Greyhawk had it's first major death in many a year. Their 9th level cleric of Pelor was left in King Ivid IV's hands. Literally. He showed no sign of being alive at the time the group was able to make their escape. Morose feelings from the party after the fact.

Got tons of HERO system and Traveller and Castles and Crusades (Thank God for Old School) and more ready to go ......just need players..... Hmm....If I listed Everything I'm working on just in case a Game breaks loose or folks say "Hey Rex come run that for Us!" it would look more like : BRP, MHROP, Champions, Villains and Vigilantes, DC Heroes of many variety, Dresden Files, Spirit of the Century, Call of Cuthulu, Cyberpunk (2020 with a few tweaks), Castles and Crusades, Traveller, Hero System in the Pulp, Fantasy, and SF flavors and many many more ........ That whole dearth of players thing though (Ah the randomness of Youth, not to mention Spring is in the Air) .... miss the old days.

I'm running a C&C demo at my FLGS next weekend in the hopes of drumming up some interest in a regular game. There's a local con in May that I might run a game for, too, but I'm not sure I'll have time. Finding players is a real pain in the bleep. If only the world new how to have fun properly...

A couple of weeks ago we switched to Cyberpunk 2.0.2.0. for a bit of a respite from long-term campaigning. I think it's going to be bloody and vile. Ain't it great?
