I'm reading through some of Gary's posts over at enworld and I found one that is rather cool. http://www.enworld.org/forum/2446815-post25.html The thread is wishing Gary a happy birthday and he invites people to his house to celebrate?!? How flipping cool is that!? Why haven't we invented time machines yet? 1.21 Gigawats!
I remember dropping by to give Gary a pie (he loved pies) for his birthday (which was purchased at Frank's bakery in Minoqua, WI) and we played some Egyptian form of game that was similar to cribbage only you rolled some odd looking sticks instead of cards. It was a tight game, but I think he snuck in right at the last moment. He always seemed to be ready for visitors!
He sure loved pie and especially the great baked goods from Frank's store. I believe the game was called Senet. I played it with Dad a few times. It is pretty cool as I recall.
My kids playing Senet Gary taught me this on Thursday nights when no one else came to play. I liked it so much, I bought one for my kids to play. (Hopefully the link works)
