Seriously. I'm a con-virgin. And I can think of no better con to pop... er, have as my first one. Well, gee, I've never been hazed over D&D before. But I'm pretty sure I can handle nerd-hazing after Army infantry school! Bring it on fellas!
Mondomat party!* *Yes, we cover you with a giant vinyl battlemat from Chessex (or a piece of felt cut 6' x 10') and blungeon you with dice bags and socks full of lead miniatures.
I don't think 200 folks have pre-registered. Its closer to 125. The poll has about 200 people saying that they will attend Gary Con II. The number of gamers that just show up at the door depends largely on word of mouth (or forum posts on various sites) since there is no advertising. So my SWAG is 150 on the low side to 250 on the high side. Luke
That's still pretty remarkable and I am guessing attendance might just top 200 this year. Fingers crossed!
Oooops!!! My bad. I thought the voting results were directly linked to attendanced. :? & who said there's no advertising? (Keeper's just full of surprises.)
You will walk the walk of 1000 4-siders in your bare feet. Yes, this is the torture you must face and then you will meet the next challenge to be administered by.........................
That is truly torture. But, it looks like I may leave you all disappointed a bit. I just received clearance from the fanged one to go to Marscon 2010 in Williamsburg, VA this weekend. So I will not be a con-virgin after all when I arrive in Wiscaaaansin.
That's okay. We'll forgive you, won't we fellow GCers?................Guys?.............GUYS?!............ (Now I'm back on track.)
Man, I can't WAIT for this thing. I'm heading out on leave in March. Got to pick up some of my old gear that the National Infantry Museum wants. Also...dig up a certain sumpin' sumpin' for da Con...
GC3 is now a Past Con. Certainly glad I drove from KC. Ill have to wait and see if GC4 is in my cards. I hope so. Glad I got to meet so many of the kindred. If I'm not mistaken, Bloodymage and I were the last to leave (I very well coud be wrong though). A special thanks to the henchmen behind the volunteer tables. They were outstanding and I'm sure everyone would agree. I managed to kill 29 characters in Spellsnstuff. Thanks to those who joined in that. Dale and Prolificvoid said something about 390+ attendees?, wow.....congrats to the Gygax clan for a super time. I didn't get ALL of the autographs I had hoped for but that was my fault alone. Everyone seemed very approachable. I just got caught up in the fun. An open invite to KCGAMEFAIR in November is in order. Get in touch with me if you are considering that.
I agree - in a perfect world it'd last at least a week, if not longer, and not cost anybody anything....
