So I am wanting to make sure I run the games people most wish to play, towards that end I'd like to see your top five of these games, which I have. I'd be willing to do one superhero game from the genre presented and one scifi-space game. So please help me decide Gangbusters (It's gone over great at the last 2 conventions I ran it) Doctor Who (the old Fasa version) (Likely to run this one anyway) Aftermath Gamma World Cyberpunk Vampire: The Dark Ages Amber Diceless Roleplay (Likely to run this one anyway) Top Secret S.I. Call of Cthulhu (5th Edition) Thieves World (using Runequest rules...the box set was written to use variant rules systems such as Runequest, Dragonquest, D&D and more) Twilight 2000 (1st Edition) Middle Earth Role Play (I.C.E.) Advanced Marvel Super Heroes (TSR) DC Heroes (Mayfair) Champions (HERO Games) Heroes Unlimited (Palladium) Classic Traveller Space Opera Star Frontiers (Knight Hawks, Alpha Dawn)
Doctor Who Star Frontiers Top Secret S.I. Any Superhero Game (sorry, that's not helpful, I'm just not that familiar with the different systems) Cyberpunk
Not that I'll have a lot of time to do a lot of gaming, but... Doctor Who (the old Fasa version) (Likely to run this one anyway) Gamma World Cyberpunk Call of Cthulhu (5th Edition) Star Frontiers (Knight Hawks, Alpha Dawn) Hmmm, I see a theme there... I must be a scifi mood lately.
This will be my first convention (looking so forward to it BTW) Traveller MERP Twilight 2000 Call of Cthulu Aftermath
In order of preference. MERP Aftermath (I've always wanted to try this game.) Call of Cthulhu (5th Edition) Gamma World Cyberpunk
When I'm not D&Ding, my sci-fi picks are Star Frontiers and Doctor Who. But I'd always try another system, if there's time.
Ok...these are my votes: 1. Twilight 2000 2. Classic Traveller 3. Top Secret SI 4. Star Frontiers 5. Gamma World Did I mention Twilight 2000?
In no particular order... Gamma World Amber Diceless Roleplay (Likely to run this one anyway) Call of Cthulhu (5th Edition) Middle Earth Role Play (I.C.E.) Classic Traveller
Based upon the response so far--and understanding this does not mean those responding will actually have time to play these events-- I'm tentatively thinking my line-up on behalf of the DGS will be... Cyberpunk 1st ed., Full Auto-Negotiate MERP, Winter's Reign Fasa Doctor Who, The March of Time Amber DRPG, A Darker Shade of Amber 1st Ed. Stormbringer, The Rule of Law 5th ed. Call of Cthulhu, Final Flight of LZ128 Still on the ropes though regarding whether to run Gamma World Barbarians at the Gate, Vampire: The Dark Ages A Wake in the Night or Twilight 2000 Moscow Nights in place of one of these. There is only so much time, care to help me decide?
Gamma World Vampire: The Dark Ages Amber Diceless Roleplay (Likely to run this one anyway) Call of Cthulhu (5th Edition) Classic Traveller That was easy!
My preferences would be these-- Advanced Marvel Super Heroes (TSR) DC Heroes (Mayfair) Champions (HERO Games, 4th or 5th Edition) Heroes Unlimited (Palladium) Classic Traveller I wouldn't mind a Star Wars (WEG D6) or Star Trek adventure either. Hope that helps.
My 2 copper: Cyberpunk Amber Diceless Roleplay (Likely to run this one anyway) Middle Earth Role Play (I.C.E.) Classic Traveller Space Opera
Okay, well I think this is my lineup... Amber DRPG, Shades of Amber 4 hours Cyberpunk, Full Auto-Negotiate 4 hours DC Heroes, Last Man Laughing 3 hours Gamma World, What Stays in Vegaz 3 hours Doctor Who, The March of Time 4 hours Vampireark Ages, A Wake in the Night 4 hours MERP, Drums In The Deep You are part of the doomed expeditionary force Balin led to reclaim Moria 4 hours Call of Cthulhu 5th Edition, The Thing They Brought Back 4 hours
Here are my games so far: I will add a couple more The Five and a Half Minute Hallway In the town of River Heights, there is an ancient house owned by the eccentric Mrs. Ayreshire. Local legends say the house is “alive,” and changes dimensions when “the stars are right.” The normally private Mrs. Ayreshire has asked her friend Carson Drew for help, but she hasn’t indicated what the nature of her “problem” might be. Can Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys solve the mystery of the Five and a Half Minute Hallway? Call of Cthulhu (Cthulhu by Strobe Light) 4-5 hours. A DGS production! The Dead Walk in Cirrha The residents of the harbor town of Cirrha, through which pilgrims pass on the way to Delphi, have been plagued by the sudden appearance of violent, undead creatures. The terrorized populace has issued a call for brave mercenaries to assist them in ridding the region of these ghouls. A fistful of dinars and eternal renown await those brave enough to answer the call. Hercules and Xena (WEG) 4 hours. A DGS production! Indiana Jones and the Lost Tomb of Antiochus Somewhere beneath the desolate Mount Nemrut in Asia Minor, there is rumored to be an object of fantastic power: the Ring of Soloman! Can Indiana Jones and his team of adventurers recover the artifact before the mysterous and dangerous group of Italian Fascists, the Gruppo di Ur, seizes it for their own insidious purposes? A MasterBook adventure (WEG) for 4-5 players: the first in my series of 1920s Indiana Jones adventures! 4 hours. A DGS production!
