Auction

Hi...new to Gary Con...really looking forward to my first (IX).
Question: is there an auction? If so, which day? Time? Live? Silent?
Love a good auction...are they needing volunteers for it if there is one?

There is a charity auction every year on Saturday afternoon with Frank Mentzer and Tim Kask serving as auctioneers. It is a live auction and quite entertaining, if demoralizing (for the really good stuff, only serious collectors are going to have a bank account adequate to be competitive and the power players tend to be generous due to the charity nature of the proceedings).

 

I believe there has also been a silent auction every year.

 

If there was a silent auction this year, I didn't see it.

 

Did not see a silent auction either.

The live auction next year will start right after the group Hawaiian Shirt photo.
