I'm startled at how low that is. 1400 badges and less than 3 events per badge, average. The top 2 badge levels were running a lot more events. I'll have to look back at prior years and compare.

Interesting. I would have thought that, with the removal of hanging out, pickup games, vendor rooms, auctions, and whatnot, that events per person would go up - but it looks to be fairly consistent.
Looking through my stuff again and here's what I found. year,"gc number","number of events","total seats","available seats","total badges" 2017,ix,"1,289","9,952","3,971","1,764" 2018,x,"1,502","11,243","3,963","2,424" 2019,xi,"1,665","12,975","3,095","2,923" 2020,xii,"1,979","15,235","4,630","2,706"
I think online might have more "friction" than in person. When you are at the con in person you are either gaming, resting, eating, etc. When virtual...well, you can do all sorts of other stuff instead. Just a guess though. I also feel that being online is a lot more taxing than in person some times. When I'm done with a game online I tend to want to decompress more than I would at a con. I still want to decompress at a con but it's a lot easier when your bed, fridge, etc are mere steps away instead of blocks or however long the Grand is
