Speaking of Starfleet Battles, has anyone ever done the Babylon 5 ship combat game? I used to know a guy that ran it and had some gorgeous painted ships, but I never played. It always looked good, though.
From the sound of things, I had better bring CircMax with me, with all of the accoutrements. The board is getting fragile, however; it is well over 25 years old and a pain in the heinie to haul around. What I am looking for is someone that can transfer the pattern of the spaces (just a shade enlarged to better fit the minis) onto a surface that I can roll up like a mat. Yes, you can race scythed chariots, at least as stated in the rules. I prefer the "Greek chariot" that Massala drove in Ben Hur, the inspiration for this game. All of the chariots in the last race had what I call "choppers". When Tom Meier sculpted them, they had some blade-things; I removed them for the savings in width and easier handling. We can pretend... As to who gets into it, I have little say who signs up. However, if I got twelve firm committments in advance, there would be no sign-up sheets; it would be a closed exhibition game on center stage up front again, or a similar accessible and visble venue. I reserve the right to reserve three of the spots; one will go to Melf, one to Brooke if she wants it, and one to my traveling pard, francisca. I will also create an exclusive GaryCon adventure again. Players (up to 12) will choose one of the 15 pre-gen characters I have created for whenever I run these. I have two more special adventures to DM, in Texas and at GenCon. I will see you there...
The D&D adventure sounds great! I missed out on the first one! I would have put in a bid at the auction, but I had already spent enough before that!
Please put me in the "firm commitments" category, Tim. Since I won't be defending my LGGC Byron Memorial win anytime soon, I'd like to try to defend it somewhere (and again contribute to a fine charity).
Nope. Nah. Own it! (But, never played it) On the brighter side, I think all here are open to new gaming experiences.
Okay, I want to find out if anyone is interrested in a "Divine Right" tournament at next years Garycon 2. Any takers? Let me know.
I too would like to play Divine Right, but I am not sure if I will have time- as Gary Con is part work, part play for me. I can't remember the game, but I hear it is great.
Has anyone here ever played “4th Dimension The Game of Space and Time” c.1979 TSR 5004? If so I could bring my copy for a few side games. :?:
Not really interested in a tourney. I'd rather not spend the bulk of the con playing DR. A one-shot, sure, but not multiple rounds. Too many other games to play.
Seems like there is enough people interested, so, if it doesn't appear om the schedule I'll just bring it with.
I think I'll drag "Soldier, Emperor" & "Soldier, King" with. This will hopefully fill any Napoleonic needs players may have.
Napoleonic always makes me think of miniatures and sandtables. Perhaps if there is room enough at the venue- no I haven't nailed it down yet- I can get some folks to run some miniatures games. I think Paul Stromberg used to run some good stuff at the LGGC cons.
Don't forget, Mr. Clark said he would bring his D-Day War Pigs. I might have a friend bring some War Hammer. He's got his own table & everything. SO KEWL!!
