Thanks francisca! Here are pictures and a battle report from the first time I ran it in 2006 at LGGC II. Not all of the pictures are up anymore as a change in service providers cost me precious webspace. Enjoy! http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewtopic.php?t=18764 and the photo album... http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewt ... 091#332091 Futures Bright, Paul
Because a game con isn't a game con without one wild and woolly, explosive and destructive Cyperpunk adventure, I will gladly run one. Name and time to be selected in two days. Watch for it!
Look out old-schoolers, the Dead Games Society is coming to Gary Con II! The DGS is a group dedicated to playing out-of-print role-playing games. To honor the legacy of Gary Gygax, we will be running many of the old TSR games so hard now to find still played. More will likely be added but the rough line-up so far will be Star Frontiers, Boot Hill, Gangbusters, Top Secret and Marvel Super Heroes. Good games never truly die, they just await new discovery!
After reading all these games, complete nerd-gasm.  Wow. I may have to invent insta-cloning.
Do we have the hall all night long? I'd like to run something, but there are so many awesome events that I'd hate to miss playing in. So an event starting late Saturday night and running until the pre-dawn hours sounds like a good way to scratch my itch to referee while minimizing the likelihood of missing out on something else. I'd be up for DMing some original D&D or Gamma World if folks are interested, and would be open to playing in a hotel room or other accomodations if the con proper needs to close down.
The event coordinator said there was no time restriction on using the hall, so it should be open all night- if you want to do a red-eye game. I really enjoyed the old Top Secret game. I used to put an X-files spin to my game- with players being part of the FBI and encountering weird events. I didn't run it as a James Bond spy gane very much.
That sounds much like Delta Green, one of my favorites. Was anyone running Call of Cthulhu? If not, I would be interested in running. I almost hate to volunteer as a GM though, because I might miss playing in something really cool! At most conventions this would not be a big issue, but with all the industry greats taking part in Gary Con, that would not be cool.
I believe that an earlier edition Call of Cthulhu game will be run by one of my fellow DGS members. Our rule is, if it's out of print, it's fair game and we all love Call of Cthulhu.
Will anyone from DGS be running a DJMGRPG? I was just wondering if I was the only one that would be running that again. ScottyG mentioned running an Unhallowed game which would be a part of that.
None of the guys have mentioned a Dangerous Journeys game to me, but being no longer in print, it is certainly an option. I'll mention it to the others and see if anyone wants to step up to the plate.
Groovy. I would love to see the differences in how others interpret the minutia of those mechanics as well as others milieux. Also the exchange of information from one JM to another is invaluable as I found out last year when I was able to talk at length with Greg Timm.
Moathouse might be my first choice of game, Paul. Looks like a blast. Anyone running Castle Falkenstein? Great game I rarely get to play.
I've read the rulebook, never played, but definitely interested in giving it a go, especially at Gary Con.
Are there going to be vendors at the con where we might be able to pick-up some of the oop games, should we track down copies of the games we are interested in playing before attending or will the rules even be required to play?
Speaking for The Dead Games Society, I believe our games will be friendly to those lacking rule sets of their own.
